What is Ayahuasca?
Ayahuasca is an entheogenic brew made from the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and the Psychotria viridis leaf (Chacruna). It is used in traditional ceremonies among the indigenous tribes of Amazonia. P. virdris contains DMT, a powerful hallucinogen, and B. caapi contains monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which work synergistically with DMT to produce a long-lasting hallucinogenic experience.
Ayahuasca is used as a tool for enlightenment and spiritual growth. Many who seek experiences of personal growth with ayahuasca report a sense of connectedness and compassion with others around them. Some report spiritual awakenings that lead to long-term, stable perspective shifts. This is likely a result of achieving a level of particularly intense level introspection that leads to profound self-awareness and clarity regarding personal issues and belief systems.

Maestro Marcial
Maestro Marcial Isamani is a Shipibo Conibo elder who shares the indigenous Shipibo healing traditions of dietas with many healing plants and Ayahuasca. The Shipibo have a long history with shamanism. Through many years or even decades of training and intensive plant dietas, master curanderos emerged from the tribe. Working with energy, they are able to cure a wide array of ailments from physical to psycho-spiritual. Using focused energy work and icaros, they access the spirit world during ayahuasca ceremonies to create a harmonized environment to facilitate healing. As a result, patients in their circle are able to gain self awareness, self-actualize, do shadow work, and heal trauma.
The Shipibo believe that our overall health is the result of a balance of body, mind, and spirit. Each plant they work with contains a specific and unique healing energy, which they channel vibrationally into the healing songs or icaros. These songs act as a conduit to facilitate the plant medicines in their ability to heal.
